Preparation : Take enough quantity of flakes in a bowl add hot milk, sugar or add hot dal or prepare like a regular poha upma instead of using poha use millet flakes.

Storage : Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. After opening keep in an airtight container.

Rice can be replaced with Millet flakes. You can make bisi bele bath or add curd to make dadojanam. You can make curries with thin gravies with coconut milk or very watery dhals with lots of veggies. You can make soups & add millets to the soup.

Recipe : Millet Poha
Ingredients : For One Cup Of Millet Poha :
Green / Red Chilli as Per your spicy taste – 1 or 2
Curry Leaves –  5
Coriander Leaves – one bunch (small)
Cumin Seeds –  1 tsp
Asafeotida(Hing) –  2 pinch
Chilli flakes  – 1 tbsp or 1 tsp as per taste
Roasted Peanuts crunch / Freshly chopped Coconut  – as per your taste
Salt  – as per your taste
Cooking Oil  – 1 tbsp or 1 tsp (as per your preference)
Turmeric Powder   – 1/2 Spoon
Onion – 1 finely Chopped
Potato  –  2 (if small) or 1 (if big) finely Chopped or Steamed.

Put a frying pan and pour a spoon of cooking oil, add Cumin seeds and Hing, then add chopped Onions and fry it till it turns in pink colour in slow flame, then add chopped potatoes and stir it with 3 pinch of salt and half tea spoon of turmeric powder and cover it till potatoes cooked ( if potatoes are boiled then no need to cook again). After potatoes are cooked add salt as per taste and then add Washed  Red rice poha and chilli flakes mix it properly, wait for 2 minutes then switch off the stove. Garnish your dish with coriander and penut crunch or fresh finely chopped Coconut and add lemon juice to it.

Now its ready to serve

NOTE : Clean very gentally your Red rice poha in running water or dip your poha strainer in a half filled bowl and remove it immediately. The above process has to be done just before adding it to the pan, after cooking potatoes.
